2010 Schedule of events

April 24, 2010, New Members Luncheon, Holiday Inn (Turf), Wolfe Road, Colonie, NY. Lunch will be served at 12 noon and is open to all members. There will be no charge for new members; existing members will be charged $20.00 per lunch. This is a great chance to meet the members of the Board and greet new members. A short film will be shown and we will be seeking your input on how we can continue to improve our Section and the club in general. May 27, 2010, Monthly Board meeting at the Holiday Inn (Turf) Wolfe Road, Colonie, NY. Meeting starts at 6:30 pm.

June 12, 2010, Hudson-Mohawk Section joins Keeler Motor Car for Giant Block Party - your Hudson-Mohawk Section will once again support Keeler Motor Car for an informal show of our cars and to support this organization which does so much to support us. There will be modest prizes for the member cars and a chance to see all that is new in this years Mercedes-Benz line-up. Member cars will assemble in a special lot beginning at 11:00 am and will remain on display until approximately 2:00 pm. You will have a chance to enjoy great music and food while chit chatting with fellow members and Keeler staff. This is a campus wide event and other car clubs will be participating at their respective dealer. Should be a great opportunity to see some “other” makes of cars. Those of us who have taken part in other Keeler events have had a great time and always met some new and old faces, let’s get together and kick a few tires. June 19, 2010, Mercedes-Benz June Jamboree sponsored by the Northern New Jersey Section MBCA at the Mercedes-Benz USA national headquarters in Montvale, NJ. Registration is between 8:00 and 10:00 AM. MBUSA headquarters are located on I Mercedes Drive Montvale, NJ. Your entry fee will include lunch; there will be professional judging for certain classes and a popular choice class for those who do not wish to have their car judged; more details to follow.

June 24, 2010, Monthly Board meeting at the Holiday Inn (Turf) Wolfe Road, Colonie, NY. Meeting starts at 6:30 pm.

July 10, 2010, 18th Annual Hudson-Mohawk Section Mercedes Benz Show, this year at a wonderful setting in the Henry Hudson Park on the river in Hudson, NY. Many upgraded awards for cars, hats and picnic displays with the theme being “On the River”. We will have a fun filled day as we watch the commerce and pleasure crafts on the river. Dash plaques for all and of course our always exciting raffles. We will have vehicles available to take members to the art and antique shops in Hudson and to the recently expanded Fireman’s Museum. Registration begins at 10:00am with judging to begin at noon. Henry Hudson Park is just off Front Street in Hudson and further announcements will give complete directions. July 16, 17, 18, Hemmings Concours D’Elegance and Rally, registration on 7/16 beginning at 12:00 at Hemmings headquarters in Bennington, Vt, a rally from Bennington to Stratton Mountain will kick-off at 3:00pm. Saturday will be a “Cruise-in Spectacular” of over 300 cars at the base of the mountain; Sunday will offer the “New England Concours d’Elegance” with over 100 cars by invitation only. While this is not an MBCA sponsored event we see a great number of our members here each year, this is a spectacular weekend, please join us.

August 7, 2010, casual drive to the Bridge of Flowers Shelburne Falls, Ma., a chance to see this wonderful display of flowers and take a nice stroll to the Salmon Falls Glacial Potholes, details to follow, hosted by Ron Tanner (exqqme06@yahoo.com).

August 14, 2010, Luncheon at the world famous Mohonk Mountain House New Paltz, NY - Join fellow members as we tour the grounds of this National Historic Landmark and then enjoy a fabulous luncheon in there award winning dinning room.  Opened in 1869 and still operated by descendents of the original founding family.  Located on spectacular cliffs overlooking Lake Mohonk it has been called “one of the last great 19th century mountain resorts”.  Please plan to join us. October 9, 2010, Annual Fall Foliage Tour, this year starting in the Saratoga Springs area, detail to follow, hosted by Ron Tanner.

October 11, 2010, Tivoli Rally, Tivoli, NY an all make rally with over 75 cars, this annual event is probably the best one day rally in the Northeast; starts in Tivoli and always has a surprise ending place with a great bar-b-q to end the day. Details to follow as we are trying to work out a co-sponsorship for this event.
